Shrek VS Fiona
Shrek heard Fiona come back inside after saying good bye to Rainbow Ivy. He had to know why he had come here, and what he wanted. He felt that man was a bad egg, and would cause trouble. The Ogrid delegation would be here in about 10 days to present them the key to their new home. Everything had to be prepped for that. In fact he had called his dad about what needed to be done. He assured Shrek he would take care of everything if he would get things patched with Fiona.
Fiona had stood watching Rainbow Ivy depart for a few minutes wondering if she had made the right choice. She knew she was not happy here, but how could she go off with a man she had just met? She had so many doubts and a part of her wanted to run in the direction Rainbow Ivy had gone, and beg him to forgive her for being so ungrateful and to take her with him. Instead she sighed and walked back inside. She hoped Shrek wouldn't bother her.
Fiona walking in the door with sadness on her face. As the door closed behind her she could almost hear what sounded like the clanging of a jail cell door. That is what this place felt like, but to escape she would have had to put her life in a stranger's hands no matter how kind he seemed, and with her background and how people had always treated her, she couldn't trust easily. She didn't like Shrek, but she trusted him only slightly because he was of her kind. True he had hit her once since she had been here, but never since then, no matter how angry he got. They didn't have much, but they shared a bond of being ogres, but that was all. She didn't know why he seemed to dislike her so. Surely being an ogre and probably getting abused himself all his life from others, she didn't understand why he treated her so badly. Lately she hadn't cared what he thought of her, but as she had watched her only chance of freedom walk away forever, she now found herself wishing things could be different. Different how, she wasn't sure exactly, but she was tired of the fighting and just wanted there to be peace. Maybe she should just accept that she had no choice, and that in about a years time she will be living with Shrek in Ogrid as his wife. The thought of that in the past had filled her with revulsion, now it was like she didn't know how she felt. Could it be she was just giving up? Well if she was, maybe it would be for the best. After all if she didn't marry Shrek it would mean disaster for them all. She didn't mind in a way sacrificing to save lives, but only if it didn't mean the rest of her life married to a man who hated her. She could bear anything but that. She thought maybe she could go away, but where? She knew of no place else she could go, and she had gotten a taste of the townspeople's hospitality that day in the park. They made it clear if she stayed in her place she would be left alone. So living on her own with no protection was not an option. Besides she had no means of support. She never worked a day in her life, and had dropped out of school at a young age due to the bullying that she had endured. Her dad didn't want her to, but she couldn't stand the taunts, the hate, the despicable behavior. The kids would go out of their way to humiliate her. She had been bruised and bloody more than a few times and even had broken bones due to the violence perpetrated on her. Her dad had gone to the police, but finding out she was a hideous ogre, they only did a half hearted investigation which came to nothing. So her dad taught her at home until her mother died and he gave up on life before killing himself six months later. This meant her education was incomplete, and besides as ugly as she was, who would hire her?
Shrek in a neutral voice: Fiona, I am sorry to interrupt your thoughts, but I was wondering if we could talk.
Fiona feeling dead inside and deathly tired: Please Shrek, I just want to go lie down for a while.
Shrek anxious: I understand Fiona, but I.... He stopped. What could he say? He looked at her for the first time and was alarmed. She seemed to be like the walking dead. Her face was pale almost white, and her eyes empty. It was like she had stopped fighting, like she didn't care about anything anymore. He had to do something to wake her up out of this. He had never seen such dead staring eyes and it scared him to death! All of a sudden she collapsed!
Shrek: Fiona!
Fiona heard Shrek frantically calling her name from a distance. She was floating, feeling like she somehow was no longer in her body. She felt such peace. Could she be dying? All of a sudden she saw her dad.
Fiona's dad: Fiona darling!
Fiona stupefied: Daddy? Is it really you daddy? She ran up to him and threw her arms around him. She was never going to let him go now she was with him again. She hoped this wasn't some cruel dream.
She was happy for the first time since he died, and she never wanted this to end. This is where she wanted to be.
Fiona's dad gently backed away: Yes darling it is me. I have never left you know. Remember that day at the piano?
Fiona nodded smiling: I knew it was you. I have wanted to talk to you so bad for so long. Where's mom. I can't wait to see mom.
Fiona's dad trying to distract Fiona: Darling, I want you to know you are never alone. Everything is going to be ok.
Fiona: Of course it is. Oh thank you daddy for watching over me, but that is no longer necessary as I am with you now. Why didn't mom come to meet me?
She grabbed her father again crying in joy.
Fiona's dad: Fiona! Listen to me.
Fiona feeling a sense of foreboding come over her pulled away. His voice was full of urgency.
Fiona started to babble frantically filled with dread. She had to avoid hearing what her dad wanted to say. Somehow she knew what he was going to say, and she couldn't bear to hear it. She couldn't.
Fiona continuing her inane babbling: Oh daddy I am so happy. We will be happy together. You, me and mom. I can't wait to see what heaven is like. I always imagined it, but now I will get to know. As terrible as everything was it is ok because now I am here with you. We can do all sorts of things. We will be together forever.
Fiona's dad shaking her gently: Stop Fiona! Stop!
Fiona, tears running down her face could barely speak: Please daddy, don't say it. Don't tell me what I don't want to hear.
Fiona's dad: I am sorry baby, but you already know that you must go back.
Fiona's dad wished he had the power to tell her everything but he was warned not to say anything about Rainbow Ivy or interfere. He had been told he could contact her in spite of the restrictions between his world and hers, but he had to be careful what he said. Anything about the future was forbidden. He had been warned of the dire consequences of saying anything but comforting words.
Fiona's dad: Fiona, I am sorry I cannot be there for you. I know this is hard, and for the longest time I have wished things were different.
Fiona not hearing anything but the words go back: Daddy I don't want to go back.
Fiona's dad looked at her sadly: I am truly sorry baby. I wish....He couldn't say what was in his heart as it would do no good. How could he tell her how sorry he was that he signed that contract with Shrek's dad without consulting her first, even if she had only been a child, she still deserved to be told. How could he tell her he was sorry for being selfish and leaving her alone to cope with everything? Would she believe him, forgive him?
Fiona crying: Please daddy don't leave me again. I couldn't bear it when you left me the first time and to lose you again is unthinkable. I hated you for a while after I got to Shrek's house because you left me all alone. You can make it up to me now. Let me stay. Don't make me hate you again!
Fiona's dad: Fiona, I have to go, but I want you to know how much I love you and never stopped. I want you to know that your future is what you make it. You have the power to make things better.
Fiona: I- I don't understand daddy! Please tell me how. I can't do it anymore.
Fiona's dad smiling at her sadly: I can't. I can only tell you that I will never be far away, and love conquers all. Never forget the things I taught you Fiona. You have more in you than you know. You have much to endure yet, but you are a strong young lady, and I am proud of you. Search yourself Fiona, and you will find the answers you seek. You will never go wrong if you know yourself. Never forget, I always have been proud of you and I love you dearly. Good bye sweetheart.
Fiona reached out to grab onto to her dad screaming: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Don't go daddy I love you! Pleasssssssssssssseeeeee!
Fiona woke up her eyes fluttering open to see Shrek bending over her.
Shrek: Fiona, Fiona are you ok?
Fiona just laid there not being able to feel anything. She was glad though as if she could it would be unbearable pain that she could not live with.

Fiona just laid there not being able to feel anything. She was glad though as if she could it would be unbearable pain that she could not live with.
Shrek shaking her gently: Fiona, answer me. Tell me you are ok please.
Fiona in a dead voice: No Shrek, I am not ok, and I will never be ok again.
Shrek wanting to do something reached down and helped her up.
Fiona stood up unsteady on her feet and pulled away from Shrek.
Shrek: What happened Fiona? What's wrong?
Fiona turned her head looking at Shrek all emotions drained from her. She didn't know what she could say.
Shrek wanted to shake her, do something to get that awful death stare out of her eyes: Look at me Fiona! We need to make plans for the delegation coming next week. We don't have time for these theatrics! Please Fiona I need help!
Fiona feeling all of a sudden cold shivered. She felt the creeping tendrils of despair tugging at her soul said in a dead voice: Plans? I don't want to make plans. I just want this all to be over. I can't fight anymore. I just want to go be with daddy.
Shrek really scared for the first time ever in his life didn't know what to do. She was so detached, like she was just giving up. She didn't seem to even be connected to this world anymore. What happened to her? He had to do something. He grabbed her and shook her hard.
Fiona felt Shrek shaking her. Her teeth were rattling in her head, but she didn't even care. Nothing mattered anymore. He would be doing her a favor if he killed her. Let him do it. She welcomed it.
To her great disappointment he let her go.
Shrek afraid of hurting her, abruptly stopped shaking her. He wasn't getting any response anyhow.
Fiona felt cheated, and felt anger flooding her body. She welcomed the anger. It was better than the despair that was eating at her soul.
Fiona angry: You worthless piece of garbage! You want to kill me? Go ahead and do it! I want you to kill me! I can't stand it anymore. I want to go be with my daddy. Come on you ugly monster! Kill me! Do it! You are a pathetic coward if you don't! I hate you, and would rather be dead, than marry you! Do you hear me? I would rather be dead! You know you want to do it! You hate me just as much as I hate you!
Shrek stood there shocked. Where was this coming from? He was glad the dead stare was gone, but this was a side he hadn't seen before. She was begging to have him kill her. She really thought he could do such a thing? That made him ashamed and he was appalled she could say these things.
Shrek turned to walk away. He didn't know what to do.
Fiona came after him, and started pushing and hitting him: Come on. You going to let little ole me beat up on you? You that much of a coward?
Shrek felt anger seeping in, but still continued to walk away.
Fiona got in front of him taunting him, daring him to hurt her.

Shrek tried to step around her, but she wouldn't stop. Fiona's insults reverberated in his ears. He felt his anger flooding his body like a raging fire. He let out a scream of rage.
Fiona laughed hysterically.
Fiona screaming: Finally, finally the animal has emerged! You are a dirty. filthy disgusting animal! Come on, I will make it easy for you! Fiona bared her throat. You know you would love to put those hands around my neck and choke the life out of me.
Shrek balled his fists to stop himself from doing what she wanted. He was no murderer, but those words wouldn't stop! He put his fists up to his head. Her words were brutal stabbing and cutting into him. He had to make it stop! Please he just wanted the onslaught to stop! He let out a roar of angry agony. STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!
Fiona continued screaming taunts and insults: Come on you ugly horrid beast! You should be living outside! You are an uncivilized beast who has no emotion. You aren't capable of any emotions but anger! You are a ugly, ugly, ugly little troll! Come on you coward! What a useless piece of garbage you are, and a wimp at that! I hate you, and you will never ever have me!
Shrek losing all control wanting only to stop those taunts and insults reached out and grabbed her around the throat. He started squeezing, squeezing, squeezing.
Fiona feeling drained and at peace smiled and went limp. She reveled in the feeling that it would soon be over and she would be with her dad.

Fiona felt the darkness descending. She was gasping for air, but not fighting.
All of a sudden she felt herself dropped. Dazed she laid on the floor. What happened? Was it over? Looking around she saw the same familiar room. Her mind couldn't grasp what happened.
Barthus had happened to come by to discuss the arrangements for the arriving delegation with Shrek, and before he could knock he heard choking sounds. Looking through the door he saw Shrek choking the life out of Fiona. What was his son doing? Was he mad? Barthus rushed in and jumped on Shrek.

Barthus yelling: Stop it! You are killing her! Stop it! Shrek was in a fury, and Barthus really had to struggle to get Shrek to let go.
Shrek after dropping Fiona still in a rage attacked Barthus. He was younger and stronger, but Barthus had experience. He had to fight many times in his life, so he held his own.

Fiona was gagging and gasping for air. She heard fighting and saw Shrek and Barthus were going at it. She was bitterly disappointed. Obviously someone wanted her alive no matter how much it hurt. She struggled to her feet and staggered upstairs. She couldn't take anymore. She wanted to die, now more than ever. She couldn't kill herself, not because she was afraid of doing it, but afraid of failing and living. Well there would be another opportunity, and she would make sure next time Shrek would be successful.
She laid on the bed smiling a trifle bitterly.
She whispered into the air before drifting off to sleep: Soon daddy. Soon we WILL be together forever! I promise!
