A Reason To Hope?
Fiona being so miserable and missing her dad starts crying.
Fiona: Daddy I miss you. Come back. I can't stand being here. She thought of leaving, but where could she go? She didn't have any money, and didn't know any one in this new town. She shouldn't have come with Shrek's father Barthus, but what could she have done? She was only 15 at the time and obviously her father thought this was the best place for her. How could he have been so wrong? Please daddy help me.

Sighing, realizing crying wasn't helping her feel better, sadly walked inside. Upon entering the house Fiona heard the piano playing. That was strange, Shrek didn't play at least she had never heard him do so before. The music was hauntingly beautiful and touching. Surely Shrek wouldn't be capable of playing such a yearning, sad song.
Curious Fiona walked into the living room. To her surprise there was no one at the piano! It was playing itself! Fiona was scared out of her wits. How could the piano be playing such a beautiful song on its own?
Fiona was about to leave the room screaming when all of a sudden the piano started playing a familiar song! Fiona's heart leapt in her chest. How could the piano play her father's and her secret song? Nobody had known it not even her mother. Her father would play this song for her when ever she was sad or going through a hard time when they were alone. It always had comforted her when he played it.
Fiona whispering uncertainly: Daddy, is that you?
As if in reply the piano switched to her favorite song.
It was! It had to be daddy!
Fiona crying with joy mixed with sadness: Daddy it is you! Oh how wonderful to know that even if she couldn't see him he was there. Daddy, I miss you sooo much. I wish you could take me into your arms and feel your warmth cradling me like you did when I was little. The piano continued to play.
Fiona pleading knowing her father was in the room: Please daddy find a way to show yourself to me! Talk to me! The music switched to a darker melody as if to give voice to her unhappiness she was feeling inside.
Fiona wistfully: Yes daddy, I am sad. I hate it here. I know that you wanted me to be here, but it isn't a nice place to be. Shrek hates me and won't say more than two words to me. He is mean and hateful. How can I marry a man who despises me? I can't, but I don't have anywhere else to go. Please daddy find a way to help me out of this situation. I know you didn't know I would hate it here. I am so lonely.
Again the music changed to a more lively hopeful sounding tune.
Fiona smiling with a little bit of hope flooding her heart: Daddy, I hear you, I know now you are going to help me. I knew you would! I don't know how, but I trust you. Suddenly the music stopped.
Fiona desperately: Daddy, don't go! Please stay daddy! Daddy? Her voice echoed in the silence of the room. For the first time since her dad died she had hope. She knew that her dad had been in that room talking to her through the music. She hugged herself in glee. She wouldn't tell anyone this would be her secret. She wasn't sure how or when it would happen, but one thing she was sure of, her father was coming to save her from this horrible place. Smiling she walked out of the room. There was nothing now she knew she couldn't handle. Fiona was excited. She couldn't wait to be free.
