Pippa's Encounter
,
Pippa had mustered up all her courage and walked into the den of the evil witch. There were cobwebs and the walls were dank and smelled musty. There had to be 2 centuries or more of mold on those walls. How could anyone live here? She ducked when she saw a black shadow come swooping at her. Her heart stood still and she crouched in fear. What was that? It came back at her. It appeared to be attacking her. She was so terrified she was reconsidering her trip here. Was getting back at Rainbow Ivy worth all this? She saw the bat or whatever it was fly away. She stood up knees shaking. She took a few wobbly steps. Then she heard a low menacing growl. 4 sets of yellow eyes came creeping toward her. Oh heavens what now? She stopped frozen to the spot. She wanted to scream and run. She swore her legs were no longer hers to control. Soon she saw the snarling teeth dripping with saliva and blood. It appears the creature had just eaten, or maybe she interrupted its meal somehow and now she would be his next meal. It slowly crouched lower as it creeped toward her. She saw its hair raised up on its huge back. What fearsome monster was this? As it crawled through the slime toward her it came into her line of sight. It was more hideous than she imagined. This beast had four heads, one protruding out further than the others. It was hard to believe but each face was more hideous than the one before. As it came closer she smelled the foul stench emanating from his mouth. It was worse than rotting meat having sat out in the sun for a week. She commanded her legs to run. She pounded on them to get them to go, but nothing. The creature stopped and stared at her. His eyes were filled with hunger and greed. He growled louder and was poised to pounce. She screamed covering her eyes waiting for the end and praying it would be quick.
A voice of an old woman came out of the depths of the cavern.
“Bosphorous, is that any way to treat our guest? Heel!”
Whatever this Bosphorous creature was he became as gentle as a dove at the sound of his master’s voice. It whimpered and turned to the old lady.
Evil witch: There is no need to be afraid of Bosphorous my child, he likes to play with new friends, but he is harmless really.” The old lady chuckled seeing Pippa had soiled herself.
Pippa couldn’t quite yet find her voice made croaking sounds.
Evil witch: Come, I know why you are here, but first let us get you into a clean change of clothes.
Bosphorous stood there watching her as if he wanted to do nothing more than make her a chew toy and then consume her. She knew now this wasn't a good idea. What had she been thinking?
The old woman stood there patiently watching Pippa.
Pippa finally found her voice: "Well, I," clearing her throat to get the hoarseness out of her dry mouth. " I think I changed my mind." Pippa backed away slowly.
She didn’t know who she was more scared of, the four headed monster, or the old green woman. Her eyes were glowing red. Her hair hung in strings like snakes. She was dressed in a jacket, shirt and tie, and jeans. One of the pants legs was ripped hanging down to her foot. It seems Bosphorous must have got a hold of it. Still it appeared to be clean, but it was as old as the woman. The lady was ancient, and that was reinforced by the cane she had in her hand supporting herself.

The old hag tried to smile reassuringly, but it only scared Pippa more. The old hag’s mouth was black with a few nubs that looked like coal instead of teeth. Smiling made her even more hideous.
Evil witch: I know you wish revenge against one named Rainbow Ivy, and I can help you attain this wish. I can do anything to him you desire. For this I would only require one small minute little thing from you. So come, I do not conduct business in the hallway. Come back into my home where I can be comfortable.
Pippa having a bad feeling: N-n-no, I have to go.
Pippa finally found her legs, and turned around running for her life.
As she ran Pippa heard something running behind her snarling. That creature was coming after her!
She got within yards of the entrance when the old hag appeared in front of her!
Pippa stopped in terror. The creature was behind her and this old hag was in front of her.
Pippa: P-p-p-lease, I have done you n-n-n-o harm. Let me leave in peace
.
The old hag stood there grinning, her two nubs wiggling loosely in her mouth making Pippa physically ill. She evidently was enjoying this. Pippa felt the creatures hot breath on her back, but was afraid to turn around.
Pippa was standing in her wet garments terrified and humiliated. She just wanted to leave. Maybe the old hag would make her stay here forever and be this creature’s plaything.
Evil witch: Now you came for my help, and don’t you consider it the height of rudeness to leave without saying goodbye? The evil witch was enjoying herself. She hadn’t had this much fun since Bosphorous had made her husband into steak tartare. She had been tired of his constant nagging anyhow so it was no great loss. She quite enjoyed herself watching him plead for mercy. It is true she had all sorts of evil spells she could have cast on him to make him suffer, but why should she have denied her beloved Bosphorous a meal he could play with? She had thought of bringing him to life and letting Bosphorous eat him all over again, but she didn’t want the game to grow old, as there would be future husbands to get rid of. There hadn’t been one in a century or more, so maybe it wouldn’t hurt to let Bosphorous have some fun again.
Pippa: P-p-lease let me go. I will give you anything you want.
The evil witch grinned even more broadly.
The witch’s red eyes glowed brighter in her amusement.
Evil witch tauntingly: You sure you want to leave? You wouldn’t want to change your mind?
Pippa shook her head. The creature’s breath was making her feel like she was in a furnace.
The evil witch stepped aside allowing Pippa to exit her lair. Pippa ran out as fast as her legs could carry her. She heard the evil witch laughing and wheezing hysterically.
Evil witch yelling to Pippa’s retreating back: Come back anytime. Bosphorous will be here to welcome you! The witch's laughter echoing in the distance.
Pippa ran and ran. What had she been thinking? She still desired to get back at Rainbow Ivy, but she would have to find another way. Maybe Queen Faerydae would be able to help her do so. She had to check in with the queen anyhow. She would probably have to schmooze and bow and scrape more than usual, but she was very good at it. She shuddered at her near death experience. Well no matter how mad the queen might be at her, she much preferred a one headed fairy dragon over that four headed monstrosity and its master. She would never make the mistake of going there again!
